From the Friendly Confines to the Green Monster

Our 2015 Coachella lineup is on its way, but first we wanted to share with you a Festival Forecaster exclusive!

Neogrunge nice guys the Foo Fighters recently released their 2015 Summer tour schedule, with Southern California dates that disappointed many hoping for them to appear at Coachella next year. We here at the Festival Forecaster were unsurprised, as we knew of the band's planned Live Nation tour. Punctuating that tour, however, are a number of appearances at large stadiums in major markets, including historic Wrigley Field in Chicago, which in recent years has hosted the Dave Matthews Band, Billy Joel, Elton John, Miranda Lambert, Paul McCartney, Brad Paisley, Pearl Jam, and Bruce Springsteen.

We can now share with you an artist we expect to join that august lineup in the Summer of 2015. Jam-band kings Phish, who performed at Fenway Park in 2009, are currently in negotiations to play two nights in Wrigleyville. Get out your hacky-sacks!

As for Fenway, where the Foo Fighters and James Taylor have already announced 2015 appearances, the latter with Bonnie Raitt, we expect more shows to come, including, perhaps, from another hometown favorite. And those who look forward to JT's annual appearance at classical music destination Tanglewood in the Berkshire hills shouldn't fear, as an announcement from those parts is forthcoming as well.
